Summary

0003678: The "kill" option for the resin.jar server does not work, it just restarts the server

Description

The server has several command options that are used to start/stop/... the servers and are performed by the Watchdog process.
One of the options, kill, was introduced to be able to kill hard a server in case the JVM is hanged and does not respond to regular input, so the Watchdog process is not able to stop it normally.

However, using the kill option produces a stack trace in the Watchdog process and server is not killed but simply restarted. The stacktrace itself looks like:
