Summary | 0001158: HttpProxyServlet enhancements | ||||||||
Description |
(rep by S Nagar) 1) The HttpProxyServlet is a straight round robin load balancer. Compare to LoadBalanceServlet which uses a least cost algorithm to choose the backend with the least amount of load 2) The HttpProxyServlet will keep trying a backend server that is down. Compare to LoadBalanceServlet which uses a timeout value, if a backend server goes down it only tries it once every 5 seconds to see if it is back up again. 3) The HttpProxyServlet will not use sticky sessions. If balancing to two backend IIS servers the sessions will not be sticky. |
