| Summary: | 0000911: Bring back <error-page exception-type='connection'...> (pretty please) | ||||
| Description: |
From our customers' perspective, our website has been cheapened by the removal of this feature (exception-type='connection') whenever we shutdown our resin service for maintenance or backups. The old <error-page exception-type='connection'...> feature allowed us to pretend that we were a professional outfit, by presenting a pretty error page that self-refreshed. Now it's just boring text that confuses anyone who visits our site. I can understand why you removed it, however I use Windows 2000 with IIS5 (not apache) and we cannot customise Error 503 (as you know), unless you know of a workaround(?). Is there a way you can restore this feature for IIS users? Even if it's left there and documented as a legacy/workaround feature specifically for users of IIS. Or rename the exception type to 'iisconnection' to clearly identify it as a special case. |
