Summary: | 0000381: Long startup time with many files in WEB-INF | ||||
Description: |
RSN-425 (rep by J Benton) We're seeing very long startup times for our applications. We have 2 apps at present- one application takes 30 seconds to start, one takes 1.5 minutes. Our applications are very content-heavy- perhaps 20 JSP templates and 50,000 pages worth of HTML snippets. All content lives under /WEB-INF, because individual snippets are not to be web-addressable. Our presumption is that startup time is due to Resin traversing these content trees we're keeping in WEB-INF, looking in vain for tlds. We've tried using <tld-dir> to no effect. We would like to keep content in /WEB-INF, largely for workflow reasons. This is an important issue for us, we are not far from hacking Resin source to track down the problem. We have 5 more applications of this sort to deliver, and the content trees are only going to grow larger. |
